Description

The KMT LIDKÖPING VGG 4000 vertical CNC grinding center was specifically developed for the high-precision machining of large rolling bearings and large-diameter rings, and meets the highest standards for accuracy, process reliability, and surface quality.
The machine is in exceptionally good condition and was used exclusively for the high-precision finishing of large bearings for offshore wind turbines. The machining scope included the grinding of the inner and outer diameters as well as the high-precision raceways of the rolling bearings.
The machining results achieved underscore the machine’s exceptional performance. Inner and outer diameters with a workpiece diameter of up to 4,000 mm were ground to a tolerance of ±20 µm. For the raceways, a profile accuracy of 2–3 µm was achieved.

The machine features two independently operating grinding units, automatic grinding wheel magazines, and 8 linear and 5 rotary axes.
